29 Faces day 19

Back again. Two posts in one day that's a first for me.
Today's face is in charcoal which means  a face done in a hurry.

I think she's looking a bit tired.  (She looks how I feel). Lol!

I have enjoyed working in charcoal and I was thinking that it would be great if you could get coloured charcoal pencils. Then the other day what did I see but tinted charcoal pencils. They were a bit expensive so I think they will be going on my next Christmas list.

There are so many other materials that I need at the moment. I am scraping the bottom of the barrel literally  on my Gesso and my Gel Medium and the next thing on my list is a lovely box of Liquitex acrylics that I have spotted in my local shop.

Ah well, tomorrows another day. Another day, another face.

Bye for now x

  1. What talent you have I thought her face looked wind swept.

  2. Lovely sketch! I really should try charcoal again, I always see such nice results with other people. But I hate the scraping sound it makes, ugh !

  4. He He, my lis is so long you wouldn't believe it! Like your charcoal drawings, I have never got on with charcoal and find I just get in a mess, you seem to be able to control them really well.

  6. Great Face, you do well with the charcoal. Yes, my list too is very long - wonder if anyone has 'enough' art supplies, EVER?

  7. I love the freedom and expressiveness of your quick charcoal sketch. A very nice face.
I bought my husband a box of 20 of those Tinted Charcoal pencils and he absolutely loves them. He says it's not like working with charcoal, they are more like soft, powdery coloured pencil, very subtle colours. He said they need to be coaxed. He has created some lovely soft drawings with them, I'm sure you would like them.
