Untitled

I little while ago I posted about the beginnings of a little handmade book.  At the time I was working on the cover. Well..... today I thought I would start to prepare the signatures. I was undecided as to what paper to put inside and I had lots of lovely comments suggesting that I use a mixture of papers
I recently bought an over-sized cheap sketchbook because I liked the paper inside so I have decided to use it for my pages.

These are the signatures.

There are five signatures and each has four inserts. At the moment they are white but before I stitch them into the cover I may tea stain some of them and decorate some of them ready to work on..

On top of the signatures you can see a template for the positioning of the wholes for the binding.

I hadn't tried out the paper yet so I got out my trusty Portfolio oil pastels and quickly drew this little cutie.

She just popped by to see what I was up to.

Thanks for visiting. x

  2. She is adorable. You are the second artist I've seen today who has used oil pastels. I think I'll see if I can locate mine. Your book sounds wonderful and much over my head, but I do look forward to seeing your results.

  5. She's a cutie for sure. I love the colours you used on her face.
What a clever idea making a template for the holes. I made a book - never used it yet tho' - and it took me aages to get the signatures sewn in..............cos I didn't think if making a template, lol
Have a great weekend Carol ((hugs)) x
