Playing with Paper.

Over at Art Journal Journey this month the theme is THE SEA.

This theme is close to my heart as one of my most favourite sounds is of the sea. Whether it be the tranquil sound of the lapping of the waves or the crashing sound of the waves on a windy day.

This is my second entry for this month and for this one I decided to create something using just pieces of my citra-solv papers.

For those of you that may not know about Citra-Solv. It is a natural concentrated cleaner and degreaser which when painted onto National Geographic magazines dissolves the ink to make randomly patterned papers which can be used to make individual pieces of artwork.

Here are some examples of the types of papers you can get from using this technique.

And I think this one already looks like a squally sea.

Thank you for stopping by and I want to say a BIG thank you to all who left such lovely comments on my last AJJ entry. I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts.

Bye for now.

  3. This is something different, Fuzzie! A most unusual project, and what a great result you have got. Like you, I adore the sea in all its moods. (See my latest blog post for our local seaside on a beautiful sunny spring day!! You can see where the cliff fell down - definitely very different weather then, in the storms of the winter before last.)

I have come across this citra-solv idea before but never seen the product in the shops. Does it have to be NG mags only? It sounds like something someone discovered by accident!

  10. Great use of the Citra-Solv, I've read about this and that you have to use National Geographic and old copies too? Each of the pages you show here are terrific.
Love your diving whale, it's a superb Sea picture.

  11. Thanks for your lovely comment, Fuzzie - I try to keep positive, but as the next few months pass, I think it's going to be hard! What the nurse said today was pretty scary. I just have to keep looking at the positive side and know this is the best thing for me, to make sure I am cancer free.
