Paint Party Friday

Just short post to share with you a quick sketch  in oil pastel that I did on a piece of paper lying on my desk.

2 x2 inches on sketchbook paper.

And here is my latest practice piece of a bird.

I never seem to get the eyes right.

  1. I love your little drawings, Fuzzie! Your little birds are coming along nicely.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog and I'm glad you like my latest 2 boxes. As for the insides, many years ago I attended a course on embroidered box making and the teacher said "every box should contain a surprise" - I have never forgotten this, and even if it isn't completely surprising, at least the inside should be as attractive as the outside!

  4. I love the expression of her eyes! She is beautiful!
Just practising Carol.. the eyes of birds are a little difficult ...to find where they should sit .. I can understand you --- was the same for me ..
a good tip came from Dina Wakley ... every living being has to have a catch light in it's eyes..she said...
Dina puts a bit of white with acrylic or white pen on all the eyes...
since I do this too - I am more happier with the birdies eyes.
    Happy weekend

  9. I can't seem to get the hang of the oil pastels on regular size paper! That you can do it on a 2" x 2" piece amazes me!

  11. Very nice! I really respond to the way you use materials, especially the gessoed piece in your masthead. Nice work! I love oil pastels as well.
