What Inspires Me.

Hi

I recently purchased some 150gsm cotton rag handmade paper.

Not having used it before I was looking forward to trying it out.

I decided to start out with coloured pencils.

I love the texture and I think it lends itself to coloured pencils wonderfully.

I mentioned in my last post that I am learning a lot about the type of art I am drawn to.

One thing I have learned is that I prefer a more muted and

 natural colour palette.

I have already had an interest in handmade books and abstract landscapes

but would love to explore these further.

I had a lovely comment from a fellow blogger Giggles asking me to post

a couple of links to what has been inspiring me lately.

I can't find a way to share my Pinterest boards here on blogger

so here is just a taste of  what I have found to inspire me recently.

I hope you enjoy checking them out.

Dipping my Toe in the Water.

Hi

After such a long break from creating the question is where to start?

I took the plunge and joined Pinterest during my little break and Wow!

what an array of inspiration there is to be found there.

It is so satisfying when all the images you love are grouped together on your boards.

However, I have learned something and that is the type of art I love is very different from the art I am

producing at the moment which has made me wonder about how to go forward with my own work.

So at the moment I am giving it a lot of thought.

In the mean time I thought I would share a quick  'scribble' sketch I did today.

Then I added just a little colour.

Untitled

Hi

I have been absent for a while during the run up to my daughters Wedding

It was a lovely day and all went well.

I thought it would be nice to take some Polaroid instant photos.

They have made a lovely keepsake with their nostalgic look.

Here is an 'arty' shot that I took and it is one of my favourite photos of the day.

I loved her shoes. They were so comfy to wear and soooo sparkly.

I am now ready to get back to creating art again so I hope you will continue to stop by to see

 some new artwork.

Colouring Book Page 1

Hi

No new artwork to show you today but I have completed my first page in the

Big Monster Colouring book by Juliette Crane.

For the first page I used just coloured pencils.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a before picture so it is hard to appreciate the change

and the colour is not showing up very well here.

I am looking forward to playing around with different media as I work my way through the book as

Juliette invites you to colour and doodle to transform her original artwork

into your own unique art pieces.

You can see her whimsical artwork here.

I want to say a SPECIAL THANK YOU  to my loyal blog friends

who continue to pop by and see what I am up to.

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE

and I really love to hear from you.

I am sorry for this lull in creativity but I hope to return to normal soon.

Checking In

Hi

It's been a long time since my last post.

I have been unwell yet again with bad gastroenteritis and

I am also on crutches with suspected cartilage trouble
.
It is my daughters wedding in two weeks time and

crutches are not a good look for Mother of the Bride.

I am going to try and manage without them but will have to see

how it goes. Either way I will be hobbling around.

I have no art to share today but I wanted to to show you my latest Art Book purchase.

Juliette Cranes Colouring book Big Monster and The Painting Workbook by Helena Hennessy.

Two beautiful books for me to treasure.

I did manage a visit to a beautiful park not far from where I live that I hadn't been to before.

It was a lovely day and in the park there was a little wood covered in bluebells.

I have also been spending time on Pinterest.

I remember some time ago a couple of fellow bloggers said that they were addicted to Pinterest

and I didn't see the attraction. But I signed up recently and found that there is so much more to see

and so much inspiration to be found. Art-wise that is.

Well I hope to be back soon with some artwork of my own, Hopefully after the wedding I can get

back into the swing of things again.

Bye for now.
