Final Week for SOC

I can't believe it is the final week of Summer of Colour already.

This weeks colours are.....

ORANGE + ORANGE + BLUE

Here is my entry  for this week.


5 x 7 inch
canvas board

I started with some collage papers.



Then they were covered up with multiple layers of different stencils using acrylic.



I then painted the background and added a little more stenciling and the original background became her dress.


Then came her blue hair.


I wanted her hair to be fuller on one side but I'm not sure about it now that I look at it here. I may have to change it a little but this is how she looks for now.

A BIG THANKS to Kristin for a great Summer of Colour and THANKS to all who have visited and left such great comments. I really appreciate every one.

    I think your lady is beautiful. The background is very striking and her dress is awesome - great use of the original background. I also like her hair style and colour. Another winning piece.

    Thanks for showing your process. I would never have guessed you began with those collage materials ---but the final result is great---and unique.

    The background's texture is very nice. I like the layering there. And the mood you've created using posture and expression is just right. I really, really like many things about this piece.

    I think I actually had a dress very similar to that in the eighth grade - many moons ago. This is so very beautiful and compelling.
