Handmade Stamps

Hi

Today I made a couple of stamps from some Fun Foam.

I tried them out on some painted papers I had on my work desk.

I thought this one looked a bit plain so I added some holes with my awl. I would be interested to know what you think. Better with or without ?

The designs were inspired by seed pods. I would like to try and create some more detailed stamps but will have to get some new blades for my craft knife. I have been considering having a go at carving stamps but I am hesitating investing in stamp carving supplies in fear of dipping my fingers in  too many pies.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Very cool stamps! I did some 2 or 3 years ago and had gret fun with them for a while, then last year I got a wee kit for carving and can honestly say I can count on one hand the times I've used it (oops), so I understand your hesitation. I like the extra awl holes in your second leaf and I like the shape of the first one. They both blend so well on your background ^_^ x

  3. The result of these stamps are gorgeous! Once I started making those I couldn't stop! Don't be afraid to use scissors to cut up the foam which I got at the dollar store and then glue it in bits onto cardboard..You can see mine here!! http://happytiler.blogspot.ca/2015/03/whimsical-week.html
Enjoy! You will get hooked making them!! I started out with a knife too...but it was difficult.
