WOYWW

This is what's my desk looks like this Wednesday.

I am currently working on another canvas board. I am starting to get a liking for them, I think.

Although I use layers in my backgrounds the results are mostly luck rather than design. I find that I still really struggle with them. So much so that I have decided to really concentrate on learning how to improve them.

I have a large size Dylusions Journal and I don't work in it as a often as I should. I always feel that I want to produce a finished piece that can be put in a frame instead of just playing for playing sake. so I have promised myself that I will start working  in it to produce  just layered backgrounds. I definitely need the practice.

I am eagerly awaiting the postman to deliver a lovely new book I have ordered for inspiration. One of my great loves is looking through 'arty' books. I wish I could buy them all. But then I would never get anything of my own done. LOL!

I am linking this to WOYWW.

  2. Great canvas! How self disciplined you are to practice in the journal. But it will pay off I'm sure.
I’m still travelling but managed to have internet today so I’m visiting as many of you as I can. Happy anniversary all! Six years is quite a long time.
Have a good week and CU Wednesday

  3. I share your passion for art books!

Love the work on the canvas board. I work on canvas board a lot, but lately I don't care for the texture of them so I often cover them up in collage and then paint on that.

  7. I simply ADORE that canvas. I often start out in one direction, then the art takes over with a mind of its own. Luck is often involved, too. I look forward to seeing your layered backgrounds because I definitely need inspiration.

Happy, happy 6th WOYWW anniversary from #1.

  10. I would do more canvas struff to if they turned out anything nearly as lovely as yours! I'm perfectly sure that the learning part will be fun, but I totally get what you mean about the self pressure to use your precious time to produce rather than play. I think you have to teach your brain that its ALL crafting and ALL productive. You can do it!
