WOYWW 351

Hi

I have been working again in my large journal.

Once again I used oil pastel and this is how she started out.

She is larger than I usually work as her face covers most of this A4 page.

When working larger I tend to struggle getting the eyes to look the way I want them to.

After more work on he eyes and face this is how she is looking at the moment.

I think some more tweaking may be required.

I want to take this opportunity to send out a big

  THANK YOU

to all who have left  comments recently.

I love to hear your thoughts and I really do appreciate you taking the time to stop by.

WOYWW 349

Hi

I found a page in my Journal that I had prepped with gesso.

The brush marks made for an interesting surface for my oil pastels.

I'm joining in WOYWW. Why not pop over and check out what's on other peoples desks this week.

Untitled

Hi

I have been missing from here longer than usual but have been a bit under the weather.

Coughs and colds seem to be doing the rounds and lasting longer than usual.

Roll on Spring time, that's what I say.

This weekend, though, I managed to do a little artwork.

I took a background that I did  a while ago.......

.....and added a figure using my oil pastels.

Hope you like her.

Paint Party Friday

Hi

Thank you to all who left comments on my little portrait in Wednesday's  post.

I was tickled by the number of you who likened her to Queen Elizabeth I.

If you missed her you can take a quick peek here

For today I have another little oil pastel piece.

Bad Hair Day

Hi

Recently I have been using both my coloured pencils and my  oil pastels together.

But today I used only my pencils.

In my previous coloured pencil drawings I have used a light sketchy technique

but in this one the face has a number of layers which has resulted in a burnished look.

I am not sure if I like this look or not.

I'm still experimenting......
