Hi
Recently I have been using both my coloured pencils and my oil pastels together.
But today I used only my pencils.
In my previous coloured pencil drawings I have used a light sketchy technique
but in this one the face has a number of layers which has resulted in a burnished look.
I am not sure if I like this look or not.
I'm still experimenting......

I like the layers on the face, there is a lot of feeling in her expression, I wonder what she's thinking :) Popping over from Blue Chair Diary Illustrations
ReplyDeleteI like this piece, you did a nice job.
ReplyDeleteVery cute....do you think when she combs it out it will be curly. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI like the burnished look and experimenting with colored pencils. They're my faves!
ReplyDeleteI like her. Especially her nose. ..very cute. It's always good to experiment
ReplyDeleteI like the hair and your expressive sketch and love your 'header' ~
ReplyDeleteWishing you peace in your week ~ ^_^
Love this, Fuzzie! If I could get my hair to do that, I'd say it was a "good hair day" lol lol!! This is a really fun little picture and I love your techniques.

I think I know her! :D
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely and has amazing hair...doesn't look like bad hair day.... ;-))))
ReplyDeleteOh, she is wonderful!! I love her hair; very funky :D
ReplyDeleteYou really do a fantastic job with colored pencils. Such a smooth transition with your blending. Well done!
ReplyDeleteOh I like this look very much. This is so typical for a bad hair day (I look similar when I have a bad hair day) and makes it really look authentic. It's such a lovely drawing!
ReplyDeletenice drawing :)
ReplyDeletethe burnished look is usually caused by too much pressure or the paper not having enough tooth for the pencils
