Is it Friday Already?

All week I have felt like it was Thursday and then Friday just crept up on me.

Today I am linking this post to PPF and Mix it up Monthly. The theme for this month over at Mix it up Monthly is Cafe/coffee.  It started first with a sketch in my little sketchbook and I then ended up turning the original sketch into the final painting.



She is painted in acrylic, inktense pencil and oil pastels. I didn't spend a lot of time on this and the more I look at it the more I realise that I'm not really happy with it.

This is a subject which is close to my heart as I love to visit my local  coffee house for a latte. In fact that is where I am off to now.

    Nice painting. Don't be so critical. It is a delightful painting even though I am a tea drinker, rather than a coffee drinker.

    Oh no! I'm sorry you're not happy with this. I think the group consensus is that we like it considerably better! :D

    You achieved great color and texture on that floor, and she has serious charm!

    It's a good thing, sometimes, to be unhappy with a painting. It helps you decide how to work on the next one -- and it may help you get this one more to your liking. But those of us who are seeing it with fresh eyes like it a lot.

    I am so in love with your painting!!! Reminds me at the work of Lisa Graham!     There must be something you like about this. How about the airy peaceful background, or the swirls on the table legs, or the very poised stance of the woman?

    I love the smell of coffee, but the taste of tea!

    I like her! The colors you use are subtle and the pop of white in the coffee cup is great! Really makes me think, coffee shop. My favorite place too.
