Today I am linking this post to PPF and Mix it up Monthly. The theme for this month over at Mix it up Monthly is Cafe/coffee. It started first with a sketch in my little sketchbook and I then ended up turning the original sketch into the final painting.
She is painted in acrylic, inktense pencil and oil pastels. I didn't spend a lot of time on this and the more I look at it the more I realise that I'm not really happy with it.
This is a subject which is close to my heart as I love to visit my local coffee house for a latte. In fact that is where I am off to now.
Thanks for visiting x
Lovely painting - coffee is one of my fave drinks, too. Valerie
ReplyDeletesmashing painting and coffee is top of my priorities. Happy PPF, Annette x

Love the personal touch on your Page illustrated by your lovely artwork. Coffee... yes who can live with out it??? Not me. ;-)
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she's very much anticipating that first sip of coffee. She's lovely! I think the colors are great.
ReplyDeleteNice painting. Don't be so critical. It is a delightful painting even though I am a tea drinker, rather than a coffee drinker.
ReplyDeletenothing like a good cup of coffee. Beautiful project for the MIM theme!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm sorry you're not happy with this. I think the group consensus is that we like it considerably better! :D
ReplyDeleteYou achieved great color and texture on that floor, and she has serious charm!
Love that little grey dress. It's funny how we sometimes can't see our own paintings, maybe you'll look at it next week and realise how good it it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not myself without the java juice flowing thanks for sharing I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing, sometimes, to be unhappy with a painting. It helps you decide how to work on the next one -- and it may help you get this one more to your liking. But those of us who are seeing it with fresh eyes like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI am so in love with your painting!!! Reminds me at the work of Lisa Graham! Sooo love this style and I have one painting of her hanging at my wall :) I can see how relaxed you feel enjoying the cup in your fav coffeehouse! You should do more of this!! Please one more cup of coffee for Mix It Monthly ♥ Conny
ReplyDeleteI think you're being too hard on yourself. She's lovely.

ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful. Makes me want some coffee right now.
ReplyDeleteThere must be something you like about this. How about the airy peaceful background, or the swirls on the table legs, or the very poised stance of the woman?
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of coffee, but the taste of tea!
This is a lovely painting! I want a coffee...
ReplyDeleteI want to join her for coffee. Very nice art. Thank you for your well wishes.
