If you saw my post on Wednesday you will know that I have been doing a makeover on a little wooden spoon. This is how it looks now it is finished.
Since my last post I have added the belt and refined some of the detail in her hair. I also added a little band of multi-coloured gold flakes to her dress and some fine glitter to the background around her head.
I am pleased how she turned out and was wondering how I would display her. I thought that a set of them would look nice in a box frame but then you wouldn't be able to see the back. I also thought she would make a good book mark.
This is a small painting that I have just started.
I hope you will pop back again to see the end result.
Thanks for visiting. x
Can't wait to see how your ladies turn out. Love the color!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the spoon is two sided but I see the problems in deciding how to frame her. Perhaps a little frame which is glass on both sides and freestanding. It is beautiful and I am very impressed with your ingenuity and creativity.
ReplyDeleteLove the spoon, perhaps you could do a set and make a stand for them to fit into and theen it be be visible from all sides. Love how the painting is going.
ReplyDeleteThe spoon is wonderful, love that you did the front and back. Valerie
ReplyDeleteSo lovely. It reminds me of the traditonal Celtic love spoons. Beautiful idea.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, maybe a hanging somewhere it can spin! Or a mobile of some sort!

Actually I was just thinking a beautiful vase filled with those like flowers would be lovely!

Funny, I was thinking the same as Giggles. Maybe you could do a few more of these spoons, and then put them together in a small vase or bowl ... It seems like a shame not being able to touch it... Your WIP is looking promising!
ReplyDeleteI love your spoon. Personally I would mount it on a white sturdy paper and frame it. It will speak louder on it's own, and express some kind of ancient history I think. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove your painted spoon. And your faces on the wip are just lovely. Looking forward to seeing the finished project!
ReplyDeleteThe spoon turned out great! I don't know how you'd exhibit it in order for both sides to show (a mobile, perhaps, using other spoons you have painted?)
ReplyDeleteThe canvas is off to a great start! The spoon, meanwhile, turned out great! It will be interesting to see what you come up with on the display front! :D
ReplyDeleteThe wooden spoon is awesome!!! Great idea. Looking forward to seeing your WIP finished.

Ooh, I do love that spoon Carol, it is simple & elegant. Beautiful work. How about using a box frame with a mirror in the back? But I also like the 'vase of flowers' idea too (but they would get dusty) I too am looking forward to seeing more of the wip :o) x
