Paint Party Friday

Hi

Thank you to all who left comments on my little portrait in Wednesday's  post.

I was tickled by the number of you who likened her to Queen Elizabeth I.

If you missed her you can take a quick peek here

For today I have another little oil pastel piece.

Bad Hair Day

Hi

Recently I have been using both my coloured pencils and my  oil pastels together.

But today I used only my pencils.

In my previous coloured pencil drawings I have used a light sketchy technique

but in this one the face has a number of layers which has resulted in a burnished look.

I am not sure if I like this look or not.

I'm still experimenting......

Paint Party Friday

Hi

Following on from my last post

I can't believe I found the beginnings of a figure

hidden in another of my mono-prints.

And here she is.........

This is fun to do as you can produce something a little different

than you would do normally do as you can see with her nose.

It was there in the background and I just couldn't ignore it. Lol!

WOYWW

Hi

I still can't work in my art room so I am continuing to work on my lap.

I searched though my mono-prints to find a more interesting background than I have

been working on lately (which have been no backgrounds at all.)

I have great admiration for those artists that paint intuitively.

They can work on a background and then pick out figures that they 'see' and build on them.

I am not very good at it ,myself  but today  I found one.

This is what I came up with.

In my last post I showed the finished WIP from last Wednesday but for those of you who visited here

last week and missed it here it is once again.

It's Cold Outside.

Hi

After a very long spell of mild....ish rainy weather

the days have started to get colder.

I saw the first 'real' frost on the roof tops over the weekend.

It's a good job these two little ones have got their woolly hats

and mittens on.

Untitled

Hi

I just wanted to share my latest little pencil drawing.

The light has been so bad lately for taking photos so

I have been using my phone as I get better results with the flash on my phone.

I have to take a wider shot and crop it.

However it gives me a chance to use effects like this frame.

Hope you like her.

Paint Party Friday

Hi there.....

There is not much paint flowing at the moment

as my art room is still inaccessible due to decorating.

However I have been working with my coloured pencils and oil pastels.

Peaches
pencils & oil pastels on paper.

I have been working on small loose leaves of paper for these little pieces.

and I plan on binding them together into a little book.

I am linking up to Paint Party Friday where artists

all over the globe meet to share what they have been up to over the past week.

Why not kick off your creative New Year of 2016 by joining in.

A New Year.

A New Year.... a fresh start?

Well in my art room at least.

New paint on the walls some new furniture and storage solutions.

Sounds grand but not really I only have a tiny space but I'm hoping to create a new 'ambience to

inspire me for the New Year.'

As my room is still in disarray as some of you will know I have been working with my coloured pencils.

I really love creating  my pencil drawings  but a bit of me is missing being able to play with collage and paint.

I had better get to work on that room.
